ALBUQUERQUE, NM (August 2007) — American Clay Enterprises has more than quadrupled its production space since its move in May 2004 from their original Santa Fe, NM, space to Albuquerque. Due to a very strong nationwide increase in demand for their all-natural interior wall plasters, the company – dubbed one of the “fastest growing private companies in New Mexico” (NM Business Weekly, 6/22/07) and featured as one of INC. Magazine’s “Green 50” (Nov. 06) – has relocated to a space double its Albuquerque location of the past three years.
“I am so excited to be in this new space for our staff and for our customers, and it really is a validation of our customers’ faith in us that we have been able to achieve this growth,” says Founder and CEO Croft Elsaesser. “In September we will celebrate our fifth year in business and that is pretty exciting.”
This move will better enable American Clay employees to meet the company’s rapidly growing production needs at a much faster pace. They now have the capacity to triple or quadruple their output in one shift, producing 6 bags per minute instead of the previous 3 ½, and 27 pallets in 4 hours instead of 12.
All production and manufacturing takes place on the premises for worldwide shipping; but now with the larger space there are separate corporate offices and designated rooms for workshops, and for Research and Development. A new exciting feature is a showroom with walls finished by local applicators as a special showcase of American Clay Earth Plaster.
Concurrent with the move, installers from across the country – including California, Florida, New York and Texas - participated in a three-day workshop at the new office location where they conveniently applied the clay plaster to the new office.
In line with American Clay’s mission that includes their commitment to healthy solutions for the planet and being conscious of their employees’ needs, American Clay Enterprises moved to the North side of Albuquerque, which cuts down the travel time by 40 minutes for a number of their employees who live an hour north in Santa Fe.
A gathering of America Clay distributors will be held in late October at the new facility to introduce them to new methods of production. The distributors will have the opportunity to tour new installations of American Clay production both in Albuquerque and Santa Fe.
